Just because a good book is the basis doesn’t necessarily guarantee a good movie or a good series, but in this case the series itself is a remarkable achievement. Rebecca Ferguson is great in this movie, because she’s in Dune 2 and it’ll be worth it.

The first two seasons were amazing
I couldn’t take my eyes off the screen. The music, the set, the characters were perfect. However, after Season 3, it took a big dip and became really boring. Brianna and Roger are really annoying, and Brianna in particular is hard to watch at times.
So I left the show
It’s really disappointing because it was such an amazing show. I watched season 4 and still season 5 but it just became clear that he would never get his magic back. I’m not sure if it’s the same story as the book but I did but the books and I think I’ll read those instead.

I knew it couldn’t be of the same quality as the movies, but I didn’t expect it to be so… mediocre. For a moment I thought it was an Amazon production, not HBO.
There’s no depth, the dialogue is quite cheesy at times
Some of the roles don’t have the right casting choices; not because the actors are bad, but simply not suited to the role. Too much happens in the first episode and skips from one scene to the next as if they’re rushing through. Also, some of the scenes I wonder why they even bothered to make them.
I really hope it gets better
No real special effects, seems a bit low budget. Not sure what camera they used, but the shots look too simple.
