Dexter, a forensics expert at day, serial killer with a touch of vigilantism at night
Dexter is creating a believable and very detailed portrait of a, lets say troubled, sociopath. One of the parts about the show I like best is the emotions that normal people exhibit, thus forcing Dexter to mimic them. Good laugh when the emotions Dexter fake get real, and he is scared out of his mind, like in the relationship with his "girlfriend" Rita, mother of two and victim of her abusive ex-boyfriend.
Also liked the acting of Jennifer Carpenter as Dexter's sister Debra, adds a nice touch of color to the show, without drifting into clichésThrilling story, many details, and one of the best opening sequences ever

The Tale of New York Written by Jem Finer, Shane McGowan, Performed by The Pogues & Kirsty McCall. Plus, I already know it’s my favorite genre, and I’m not going to ignore any flaws that come my way. But when the dialogue in Episode 1 was slow, some moments dragged on too long, and the scenes with Quinten’s attempted dialogue left me indifferent, I tried to console myself.
I was wrong
Of course, they just develop the characters and set a unique tone. As the episodes dragged on, I realized that this series was not going to deliver. Not just unrelated, but with few or no characters I actually cared about.
I’m so sad for what could have been
I honestly don’t know how the magic happens, but I was deeply drawn to the stories and characters in “Slow Horses,” “The Americans,” “Le Bureau,” “The Diplomat,” and even “The Old Man” – for all their flaws. Add to that the lack of stakes and many key omissions, and the boring:intrigued ratio became too high to be enjoyable. Yes, all the basic spy elements are here in Black Doves, but somehow the recipe lacked salt and by E03 I was already turning up the playback speed.

In the field of film and screenwriting, it is advisable to limit the narrative of characters so that the actions, dialogue, and scenes can speak for themselves. However, if there is an exception and it is called Dexter! I was fascinated by the character of Dexter from the beginning, a dark, introverted man. The strength of the character development was obvious, and it was reinforced by impeccable acting and a gripping, crime-filled storyline.
Seasons 1 and 2 stood out, earning a commendable 9/10
But after that, the quality of the show began to decline. The introduction of new characters and over-the-top drama weighed on the once classic series. Despite my love for the character, I felt that his charm, including Debra’s, was gradually fading. The writing and direction were solid, but Dexter himself was the main focus, as his portrayal of dark humor remained a standout aspect.
However, I must emphasize that the first two seasons are worth watching and should not be missed
His narrative throughout the episodes was a unique perspective where we learned how he perceived things, people, and crimes; it was absolutely amazing. I recommend this series, but I encourage viewers to watch it at their own pace and choose the number of seasons.
