BOB TREVINO LIKES IT is inspired by a true friendship that writer and director Tracy Lamon found in a stranger while searching the Internet for information about her father. Often playing the role of guardian to people like her father, who was supposed to take care of her, Lily Trevino longs for family ties, having been abandoned by her mother as a child and then suddenly abandoned by her father when she was in her twenties. Bob Trevino spends a lot of time working alone at a construction company to keep his wife, Jeanie, interested in scrapbooking. Over the past decade, the couple has been through a lot, and Bob strives to put his wife first, to the point of ignoring his own feelings and need for friendship, meaning, and connection — until he receives an unexpected Facebook message from a stranger. Lily and Bob’s developing friendship becomes the most important source of connection and healing in both of their lives. Bob’s small acts of fatherly kindness fill the family void in Lily’s life and can change her direction forever. These two, each in their own way, must understand that they are worthy of extraordinary love, manifested in small good deeds.
