Exploring key moments in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and turning them on their head to take audiences into uncharted territory. Chadwick Boseman’s final Marvel project before his death. Observer: [Opening commentary for each episode] Time. Space. Reality. It’s more of a linear path. It’s a prism of infinite possibilities, where a single choice can branch out into infinite realities and create alternate worlds from the worlds you know. I am a Guardian. I am your guide through these vast new realities. Follow me and consider the question… “What if?” When the Marvel logo appears, it transforms into an animated form, matching the show’s art style. Adapted for Marvel Studios: Legends: Guardians of the Multiverse (2023). A very straightforward sequence of things rushed to fit the pieces into the puzzle correctly. And my facial expression was pretty straight forward too when I watched this episode because there was no tension or even any logical narrative. I understand that maybe it’s an animated series aimed at kids? But only those kids who know the entire MCU up to this point might enjoy it. We’ll see how the rest of the episodes pan out, but after this episode, I’m really not that excited about them. Edit: Episode 2 gave a real taste of what the MCU is about, it was creative and thoughtful with big ‘WHAT IF’ moments. I really enjoyed seeing T’ back on screen. However, the third episode was a game changer and caused me to revise this review. It was so gripping and exciting to watch that I could’ve watched the entire movie of this episode. It re-explored the characters we know on a level that leaves you wanting more. I hope to get a 10 star edit by the end of the season. Edit II: Here’s another star from the ‘weird’ 39; Nonetheless, a thought-provoking episode that was by far the best of the bunch in terms of script, voice acting, animation and story. Special mention goes to Benedict Cumberbatch for nailing the boss. Kudos to Marvel for that. However, in episode five, the episode was certainly entertaining, humorous and engaging with quality animation, but at the same time, it again showed too much, not giving viewers enough time to get to grips with things. Still a 9/ overall series 10, at least until the next two episodes. You’ll have to get through episode 4 to get a 10 from me.
